War Damage in Hong Kong.

keceipt of your letter of the 15th December,

1947, is acknowledged.

Claims Commissions have been appointed to arrange for the repatriation and assessment of claims for property lost or damaged, as a result of the war, in British Territories in the Far East which were occupied by the Japanese.

All claims in respect of losses of or damage to property in Hong Kong are now under consideration by the Hong Kong War Lamage Claims Commission, but it is not yet possible to say when any compensation which it may eventually be decided to allow in respect of such losses, will be paid.

In the meantime, a statement is enclosed
